wait, I meant to end sooner than that and it quickly went into my favorite Julie Andrews song from Sound of Music...eek!
Let's do start from the beginning two weeks ago. A lot has happened in the Belt family the past two weeks.
First of all let me post a cartoon that was sent to me from McKenzie the other day:
It was sent after Jake did the exact same thing. He met us at the truck and well, said "Dad I have to tell you something. I owe you $13." At which point Brad knew something was wrong and pretty much reacted the way Calvin's dad did here. What was it that Jake did? Well, he climbed on Brad's brand new street bike. The only street bike that he has ever owned that was new to pretend he was riding it and while he was pretending he knocked it over and broke the mirror. As Brad explained to Jake, Jake was lucky that was the only thing broken and not a leg or an arm of Jake.
Next: We gave our pig away to this cut girl and her family.
While the pig was certainly cute because it followed Blue around everwhere it also pooped everywhere and well, it stunk and so we gifted the pig away to a family that has more land and a pig pen. The pig pen being the asset they had that made the pig doable.
Some recipes I like. My new favorite cookie recipe.
A good cake recipe to make the box taste like homemade and very moist. Did I ever tell you that Jake was banned from saying the word moist in 5th grade because some girls didn't like the sound of the word. Really you ask? Yes.
My favorite pulled pork recipe.
My favorite pictures from a hike we went on over memorial day:
As you can see we had a couple of tag alongs, Jess and Anna.
We had a couple of birthdays:
As always this time of year, we spent some serious time in the river:

We also went rock climbing. We feel extremely proud that Kenzie completed her first ever climb. She is terrified of heights and this was a BIG accomplishment for her:

And finally the reason we love this guy, because even during hard times, he finds a way to make us all laugh.
