Kayaking

Once back country skiing is over, Kayaking begins.  Yes, for the Belts it's one adventure after another.  Not for me though.  Really, I try to stay away from all this scary stuff.  But the boys, my boys, they all take part.  They are brave and I am wimpy.  By posting all these adventures they are not trying to brag, but they do want all their adventures documented.  Especially since Jordan leaves this year...like, really he leaves this year.  I am crying right now just thinking of it. *Sigh*  How did that happen?  Ben is sitting at my side and calling me out saying I am not really crying but he just can't see my inside.  Inside Jordan's leaving has me torn up.

With the dry season our area had this last winter, our river won't run for long so the boys are getting in the action when they can.  Here's Ben and Jordan running down the first drop in our hometown river.  Jordan is the kayaking pro but Ben is not too far behind in skill and when Jordan was Ben's age, he hadn't even started kayaking.

Jordan entering the second drop which happens to be a new feature on our river this year and has a huge hole that swallowed my Jordan up and popped him right back out the other side.

Benny, ever the learner from Jordan, chose a different line to follow and got through without any complications.

Ben and Jordan at their second run in the same area.

On the second run, Ben was going to take another boof line (don't ask me what boof means I'm just typing what Ben is telling me, and again yes, that's the correct spelling I looked it up) but the current messed up his line and Ben decided to bravely take on the big hole Jordan went through earlier.

Now that my three adventure posts are done, I am releasing my servant Ben who has so benevolently helped me with these three posts to go work on his climbing wall.  He finally earned all the climbing holds from our bishop to put up on his wall at his tree house.  He can hardly wait to get it all done.
